As the director of Operational Excellence Partners, Scott brings a unique combination of skills as both an operational excellence practitioner and practical experience in operations leadership. This combination provides his clients with hands-on expertise and the ability to forge and embed business and people capability growth.

Scott established Operational Excellence Partners to help Australian businesses to reach global levels of competitiveness by teaching all levels of business how to see and tackle waste.

He is regarded by his clients as engaging, knowledgeable, challenging and supportive – attributes that bring out the best in people.

Scott is a Judge of the prestigious Endeavour awards and holds post-graduate qualifications in competitive systems and practices (Lean/Toyota Production System).

Scott is an Honours Degree qualified chemical engineer who has amassed significant breadth and depth of experience across operations, management, and technical roles.

He spent over 30 years with the leading FMCG marketing and manufacturing business, Kimberly-Clark that saw him undertake roles within the Sydney headquarters, the USA and Australian operations, including as Millicent Mill Manager. He was also a Process and Production Control Engineer for Worsley Alumina.

Key points of career focus have always been world-class safety, quality, process improvement, product development, people and cost.

Since 2019 he has consulted with SME’s in the South-East of South Australia. He has continued his commitment as a volunteer Board Member of  Regional Development Limestone Coast and Deputy Chairman of Group Training Employment.

Ross has developed over 30 years of experience in inventory management and purchasing. His industry experience has been predominately in the complex world of hardware, building, construction products and electrical products distribution.

He has managed inventory portfolios of up to 150,000 SKU’s, redesigned and project managed retail store and warehouse relays, managed site developments, including building works and fixturing requirements.

Ross works with our client’s inventory and warehouse management teams to implement the transformation required to create operational excellence on the floor.

Our team conducted a KAIZEN Event to improve our productivity of assembling kits for surgeons and increase capacity to meet increased demand from our customers. We were at risk of missing our DIFOTIS targets. Under Scott's coaching and goal setting, we designed and re-engineered new processes and the physical layout of the business unit. We applied lean thinking criteria to the project under four guiding principles; Velocity, Utilisation, Flow and Visual Management. The planning phase took four weeks and the execution three days.

The result was an incredible 36% productivity improvement with the same resource – the effect immediately. We also reduced our customer complaints/disputes by over 60%. Scott's style and approach ensure that the learning is shared for the long term.
